The ps3 loads but the screen comes up like the imput is screwed up. Wavy lines and in black and white with no clear picture. Need some help here guys, want to be able to play the beta next week with you all. Where do I send it to get fixed?

As you can see the entire screen moves up with the recoil. In previous Socoms, all that moved up was the crosshairs.

Also you can see there isnt a max to the recoil. Meaning it keeps going up the longer you hold the trigger. In other Socoms, most guns had a point at which the crosshairs would not rise further.

Extraction Video

Did anyone see the "Extraction" video on Socom.com and think that the movement looked kind of choppy? To me it looks like the players are not actually interacting with the environment i.e. walking on the ground. It kind of looks like they are making a running motion while gliding above the ground. I really hope that that is not the final product or else I will be sorely disappointed. Sorry, there is no link to video but you will see it on Socom.com. Thoughts?

Seth announced the details of the public beta last week, and I'm here to drop some more information on you on what's going into the beta.

As planned right now, the beta is going to involve Crossroads and Crossroads Large, the 16 and 32 player variations. You've seen the screens and videos, and maybe even figured out the general layout of the map, but you'll get a month to play on it yourself.

Beyond that, you'll have access to the full range of game modes. Extraction, Elimination, Suppression, ...

Theres only 24 spots for the BETA ladder. I sent to pretty much everyone but if you dont plan on reserving the game and getting in on the BETA please decline the invite. We re tight for free spots on the main GB which has 28 spots and even worse off for the BETA. I saw 1 or 2 people on different BETA teams, which is all good. Will confrontation's friends list be a mirror of your xmb friends list, or will it be an independent supplement to the xmb list?

The Confrontation friends list will be the same as your XMB friends list.

Will sniping be relatively the same as SOCOM 3???

It will be similar but because this is not a port there are going to be some differences. Quick sniping is no longer possible!

Can the proximity chat be turned off? Will the player be able to turn it off and just use PTT?
