These are headphones that completely surround the ear better to your ears???

I would not say they are safer. The only real advantage is that some people do not like hearing aids, because of issues of comfort and hygiene. What you should worry about is at what level of volume that is play the audio. It is due to a comfortable level. What really helps with this is if you have noise isolation / noise cancellation. This could be headphones, head, or behind the ear style. If they are insulated from the noise, then when you hear that will not compete with the noises around, which eventually lead to increase the volume. Although you can barely hear the audio is so strong that the total decibels has the ear (headphones + environment) could be harmful. Therefore, the noise isolation / noise cancellation are the way forward since there is no or little need to keep raising the volume tries to compete with outside things.
