The Grundig S350 Portable Radio is a radio spot in search of a military aesthetic.
One of the best things about the Grundig S350 is the manual. I know, I know, which is a manual, but many radios that come with manuals little sad that it is a real pleasure to get a detailed manual written in coherent English.
Controls of the Grundig S350 are well established and intuitive to use, but it's a shame that the controls are not made of highest quality material. Inparticular tuning control feel cheap and sloppy, and may be difficult to achieve the accuracy that you want while searching for the elusive frequencies.
The S350 Grundig gets a great reception on FM, AM and shortwave frequencies, and the speaker sounds as good as you would expect from a radio in this class. It also includes outings stereo, if you want to run the audio through your stereo, and bass and treble controls work very well.
The digital display in this portable radio is well lit and easy to read, not much seems to drain the battery life. The radio requires AA or D batteries (you can select that the batteries would like to use with a toggle switch). It also comes with an AC adapter.
Make no mistake, this is a great radio – weighs six pounds. However, if you're in the market for mid-sized table skill portable radio, the Grundig S350 is going to make a good choice – assuming he does not mind fighting the tuning knob.
